Singapore Itinerary 2026
Singapore punches far above its size — within a single city-state you can move from a UNESCO-listed hawker centre to a supertree garden to a 60-year-old Peranakan shophouse in 20 minutes. This 4-day itinerary makes the most of Singapore's compact, walkable neighbourhoods.

Day-by-Day Singapore Itinerary
Marina Bay + Gardens by the Bay
Marina Bay Sands SkyPark
The observation deck (S$32, non-guests) offers the best views of Singapore's skyline, the Supertrees, and the Strait of Singapore. Open at 9:30am — visit early for clear skies.
Gardens by the Bay
The iconic Supertrees are free to walk around but the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome conservatories (S$28 combo) are worth it. The OCBC Skyway between supertrees (S$14) is optional.
Marina Bay Sands light show + Clarke Quay
The Spectra light and water show at Event Plaza runs nightly (free, 8pm and 9pm on weekends). Dinner and drinks at Clarke Quay's riverside restaurants.
Tip: The MRT is the easiest way to get around — a single trip costs S$1–2.50. Buy an EZ-Link card at the airport (S$12 including S$7 credit). Taxis and Grab are affordable for late nights.
Chinatown + Little India + Kampong Glam
Chinatown Heritage Centre + Sri Mariamman Temple
The 3-storey heritage museum (S$12) tells the story of early Chinese immigrants. Sri Mariamman is Singapore's oldest Hindu temple (free, shorts not allowed). Maxwell Food Centre is next door — eat breakfast here.
Little India + Tekka Centre
The Tekka Centre food market is the city's most authentic hawker experience. Mustafa Centre (open 24 hours) is a sprawling Indian superstore — good for budget shopping.
Kampong Glam + Haji Lane
The Malay cultural quarter has the Sultan Mosque (free entry outside prayer times), the colourful Haji Lane boutiques, and excellent Malay and Middle Eastern restaurants on Arab Street.
Sentosa + Universal Studios
Universal Studios Singapore
Arrive at 10am when it opens (S$81 adult, book online). Allow a full day for all 7 zones including the Battlestar Galactica coasters and the new Minion Land.
Wings of Time at Sentosa
The 20-minute outdoor light, water and fire show at Siloso Beach (S$18 premium seats) is one of Singapore's best evening experiences. Hawker dinner on Orchard Road or in your neighbourhood.
Botanic Gardens + Orchard
Singapore Botanic Gardens (UNESCO)
The 160-year-old gardens are free (National Orchid Garden: S$15). The rainforest section feels genuinely wild despite being in the middle of the city. Visit at 7–8am with joggers and dog walkers.
Orchard Road + ION Sky
Singapore's main shopping street. The ION Sky observation deck on floor 56 is free with S$15 spend at ION Orchard. Excellent food court and hawker options in the mall basements.
Hawker farewell dinner
End your Singapore trip with a proper hawker centre dinner — Lau Pa Sat (near CBD, famous for its satay), Old Airport Road Food Centre, or Newton Food Centre. Chicken rice, laksa, and char kway teow are essential orders.
Tip: Singapore's hawker centres are UNESCO listed as Intangible Cultural Heritage. Eating at hawker stalls rather than restaurants saves 50–70% on food costs and is genuinely the best way to eat in Singapore.
Practical Information
Year-round destination — warm and humid 28–32°C all year. February–April tends to have less rain. November–January can have heavy monsoon rains but they're usually brief afternoon showers.
MRT is excellent and covers all tourist areas. EZ-Link card works on MRT, buses, and some taxis. Grab is the local Uber — very cheap compared to London or NYC.
S$100–200/day ($75–150) mid-range. Hawker meals: S$4–8. Hotel: S$80–200. Budget possible at S$60–80/day in hostels and hawker food.
Never buy drinks at tourist areas — a S$10 cocktail in Clarke Quay costs S$3.50 at a nearby hawker centre. Singapore tap water is some of the world's cleanest and safe to drink.

Singapore Itinerary: FAQs

Singapore is expensive by Southeast Asian standards but comparable to Western Europe. Hawker food ($4–8/meal) keeps costs down dramatically. Cocktails and fine dining inflate budgets quickly.
Do I need a visa for Singapore?
Most nationalities (US, UK, EU, Australia) get 30–90 days visa-free. You'll need to complete an SG Arrival Card online before landing (free, takes 5 minutes).
