About Yas Island
Yas Island is Abu Dhabi's crown jewel of entertainment — a purpose-built leisure destination rising from the Arabian Gulf just 25 minutes from AUH airport. The island rose to global fame as the home of the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, held at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit each November. The circuit's distinctive design — with the start/finish straight passing through the Yas Viceroy hotel — makes it one of F1's most spectacular venues.
Beyond motorsport, Yas Island hosts an extraordinary concentration of world-class attractions. Ferrari World is the world's largest indoor theme park, home to Formula Rossa — the world's fastest roller coaster reaching 240 km/h. Yas Waterworld offers over 45 rides and slides, while Warner Bros. World transports visitors into DC Comics and Looney Tunes universes. The Etihad Arena hosts major international concerts and sporting events throughout the year.
The island is also a luxury hotel destination in its own right. The W Abu Dhabi overlooks the marina, the Yas Viceroy straddles the F1 circuit, and Rotana and Crowne Plaza offer more accessible options. Yas Marina offers dining on the water, yacht berths, and a buzzing nightlife scene. Yas Mall rounds out the experience with international retail and dining.
