What is Pattaya known for?

Pattaya is Thailand's beach resort city on the Gulf of Thailand, 150km south of Bangkok. It is known for its beach clubs, Walking Street nightlife, water parks, golf courses, and day trips to coral islands. The city has diversified significantly and now attracts families, retirees, and MICE tourism.

What are the best beaches near Pattaya?

Jomtien Beach is cleaner and less crowded than central Pattaya Beach. Koh Larn (Coral Island, 30 min boat ride) has clear water and snorkelling. Koh Samet (3.5h north) is popular for weekend getaways. Pattaya Beach itself is better for the scene than swimming.

Is Pattaya good for families?

Yes — Pattaya has expanded well beyond its nightlife reputation. Cartoon Network Amazone waterpark, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, Sanctuary of Truth, golf courses, and island day trips are excellent for families. North Pattaya and Jomtien are family-friendly areas. Walking Street is adults-only territory.
