The bay itself is ideal for beginners and longboarders, while nearby Midigama, Ahangama, and Rams offer faster reef and point-style waves for surfers stepping up. The season runs when the east coast goes quiet, making South Sri Lanka a natural November-to-April counter-season play for Asia-based travellers.
